About the Coaches

IMG_7316Gaetana Deiso, “G” is certified with the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and is licensed through the state of Connecticut as a Certified Athletic Trainer. She is also a Certified Functional Strength Coach, Functional Movement Screen Certified, and a Training For Warriors Certified Coach. In the spring of 2024, she became a Physi-Yoga Certified Instructor. She graduated from Springfield College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Nutrition. She spent the heart of her career as the Head Athletic Trainer at Staples for 17 years (2004-2021). Prior to Staples, she worked 5 years as the Athletic Trainer at Greens Farms Academy and at a physical therapy clinic. During this time, she also worked with Fairfield University’s Football, Men’s Lacrosse, and Rugby teams from 1999 to 2002. In the summer of 2002, she worked at Boyle’s Strength and Conditioning in Boston, where she had the opportunity to train many professional and Olympic athletes.  Spending that summer at Boyle’s, inspired and motivated her to start her own sports performance business when she returned to Connecticut. She is the owner of Body Blast Sports Performance, specializing in team training, injury prevention programs, individual, and small group training. 

thumbnail-2.pngNicole DiMeglio is a certified CrossFit Level 1 Coach and has been competing in this sport for 7 years. She started playing Soccer and Basketball at the age of 7 and these two sports became a huge part of her life. She continued these two sports into her high school career playing for Norwalk High. Nicole was a varsity athlete for all four years in both sports, and became captain of both teams her senior year. She realized quickly that her passion was finding the most effective way of training her body and becoming a better athlete each day. After graduating with a Business degree from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2013, she found another passion through weight training and became CrossFit certified. The experience of training people of all ages with different goals made her realize she wanted to work in a physically active environment for the rest of her life. In May of 2017, she graduated from Manhattanville College with a Master’s degree in teaching for Physical Education. That summer, she began her role as a strength and conditioning coach with Body Blast Sports Performance’s summer high school program and the outcome was immeasurable. She is a Physical Education Teacher in Stamford, CT and is entering her fifth year! She looks forward to enhancing the lives of students and athletes by teaching them how to live an overall healthy lifestyle, not just physically, but also mentally!

img_1336Jennifer Rasmussen brings with her, over 20 years as both a researcher and practitioner in the fields of Health and Physical Education.  For over a decade, Jen has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Health and Behavior Studies department at Teachers College, Columbia University where she’s taught a number of graduate level courses. She currently is a Physical Education and Health Teacher at Bedford Middle School in Westport, CT. As a practitioner in the fields of Health and Physical Education, Jennifer has served as a teacher,  student teacher supervisor, CrossFit coach and personal trainer. She has worked  as a strength and conditioning coach with High School Girls lacrosse teams in Fairfield County as well as individual competitive athletes in the sport of CrossFit; with a recent client qualifying for the CrossFit Fames in Madison, Wisconsin. Jen’s passion for health and fitness lies in educating her clients about the relationships between nutrition and mindset and their impact on performance. Building strong relationships with her clients and seeing them achieve their goals is what brings her the most joy.
